Finally...

so my computer is fixed and my internet is back on at the house.
I started keeping a journal back in February about my hair journey. But got bored with that. I think I kept it for a week. I had started out doing a 4 day wash regimine. I was told that was TOO much to be doing to my texture hair.

After researchng on youtube I found a product to try on my hair to 'define my curl' Smooth & Shine Activator Gel.

The Pros:
My hair was well moisturized. So much in fact that I did not need to add ANY product for probably 7 - 10 days. It did define my curl.

The Cons:
My hair felt icky to the touch. As the days passed a nasty residue was on my hair, that actually ate away my nail polish!!!

I also used this in February - when it was STILL cold! (doh!) So that's a no go. Since then my Cousin tried the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard on my hair. I think she put WAAAAAAAAY to much on it because I had the same problem with residue but this time it also included WHITE FLAKINESS! Althought the KCCC was easily reactivated with water and did define my curls. I did not like it much. I think perhaps I will try it again before the summer is out, doing it myself without using as much as my Cousin did.

RULE OF THUMB: if you are using the NO-POO or CO-WASH method on your hair and have tried these curl activators and/or curling gels. You MUST shampoo your hair. I used a baking soda shampoo which worked VERY WELL my hair felt clean but not rough. If you need the suds and bubbles Cream of Nature is a good shampoo to use.
