My First Post....

as I get myself together, I wanted to atleast post a little something something...

So where do I start?
For as long as I can remember my hair has been a major issue in my family. My Mother’s side being a delightful concoction of Native American, Irish, & African ancestry and my Father’s side being mainly African, Native American &African American background somehow as the traits were being divided I was blessed with this thick, thirsty head of hair. My Mother never knew how to really take care of it, she tried her best; hot combs, tight cornrows, and the ever so lovely chemical fire cream. I have been the victim of many ACE comb attacks as I sat either in the floor or in a kitchen chair trying to make my hair “act right”.
After my Father painfully watched my Mother try her best with my hair, he decided to take things into his own hand. I became a part of the Care Free Generation probably around 3rd or 4th grade; rocking that Soul Glo Jheri until I started high school; when I want to blend in with all the other kids. My hair was long and healthy and beautiful. I wanted a Salt N’ Pepa asymmetrical cut, I went to a stylist my Mother normally goes too and she cut all my hair off!! It was horrible. Since then battle has been on and popping; between myself and Sasha Wooly – a struggle that prayerfully will end in a peace treaty.
